Meet Pompom, a member of the Morom family. Part of a larger edition of hand-built beings, each finished by hand so no two are quite alike.
Artist Tanaya Sharma shapes each one by hand from scrap and brown paper, slowly coming to life. Born from a simple choice not to add to everyday waste, Pompom carries raw edges and imperfections, just like a being born from the earth itself.
Materials: Paper mache, air-dry clay, scrap and acrylics
Dimensions: 6 x 4 x 5 cm
Tanaya Sharma is a Delhi-based multidisciplinary artist whose work draws on the natural world and childhood imagination, finding real beauty in overlooked everyday waste. In her ongoing Morom Beings series, she turns discarded matter into playful sculptural forms and imagined ecosystems.
