Artwork of the Day by Jagadeesh Guttula

Author: Staff Writer

Artist Jagadeesh Guttula currently lives and works in Vadodara (Baroda), Gujarat.

Untitled is part of the artist's Rusting Petals: Heroic Bloom series which "explores the subtle coexistence between organic life and industrial containment. Using container forms associated with storage and utility, the work introduces botanical imagery that appears as stains, traces, or seepage across the surface. Through dripping marks and layered surfaces, the work reflects on how traces of life continue to persist and reappear within manufactured environments.".

Guttula was born in 1995 in Visakhapatanam, Andhra Pradesh, India. He
completed his Bachelor of Technology (B-Tech) Mechanical Engineering at the Welfare Institute of Science, Technology and Management, Visakhapatnam in 2016; Bachelor of Fine Arts at Andhra University, Visakhapatnam in 2022; and Master of Visual Arts at Maharaja Sayajirao University, Vadodara in 2024.

The artist's series Rusting Petals: Heroic Bloom was first shown at RAW Collaborative at Space Studio and his works have been a part of several group shows since.
