Recently opened exhibition, Will This Entanglement Ever Resolve? presents a series of intimate watercolours by Indian artist Natasha Sachdeva that explore the complexities of the female body and the lived realities of womanhood. Drawing from personal experience while resonating with wider social expectations, the works reflect on weight, ageing, marriage, and companionship. Sachdeva’s unposed, often voluminous figures challenge conventional ideals of beauty, offering candid reflections on vulnerability, resilience, and the subtle negotiations of identity within shared life.
Sachdeva (b. 1993) is a New Delhi–based artist who received her BFA and MFA in Painting from Amity University, Noida. Her work has been exhibited widely across India, including at Art Heritage, Bikaner House and Lalit Kala Akademi in Delhi. Sachdeva has received numerous honours, including the Lalit Kala Akademi Painting Scholarship and the Abir First Take Award. Her work is held in the Alkazi Collection of Art and the Reserve Bank of India collection.
The exhibition takes place at IA&A at Hillyer, a contemporary gallery operated by International Arts & Artists a nonprofit arts service organization dedicated to promoting cross-cultural understanding and exposure to the arts internationally. Sachdeva’s exhibition is part of Hillyer’s Call for Proposals programme and opens alongside exhibitions by Esha Sadr and Abol Bahadori.
