Lovebirds at London Fashion Week

Delhi-based Lovebirds, founded by Gursi Singh and Amrita Khanna, makes its debut on the official London Fashion Week schedule. The label combines contemporary tailoring with Indian craft and works extensively with local craft clusters. Invitation only — so watch out for the coverage.

The Pangolin Shield — Studio Saar / Atelier One

12–20 September · Strand/Aldwych

If the description is anything to go by, this installation by Studio Saar (Rajasthan/Somerset) is worth a look. The Pangolin Shield has been constructed using ‘traditional Indian police shields and woven rain shields (knups) from north-eastern India within a bamboo structure. It explores craft, colonial history, ecology and migration.’ Part of London Design Festival.

Design Intelligentsia — Raw Collaborative

15–17 September · Shoreditch Town Hall

Raw Collaborative, a design platform from India, hosts its first international exhibition. It brings together 25 artists, designers, craftspeople and interdisciplinary practitioners from India, exploring contemporary Indian design through craft, materials, sustainability and new technologies. Part of London Design Festival.
